I love peace

I love Peace. And we have this man to thank. I hate remembering him on the tragic day, so here's a little after toast.
So I'm 20. I didn't live through the "Beatle Mania", The Lennon-Yoko movement or his tragic tragic death.
I was raised musically. Raised in a rock and roll home. Seventies and Eighties rock where I heard dad's ACDC and Rush. Mom introduced me to the women of music and Shania; being as we were settled in a high percentage country area. And I love Shania. Through Shania I learned about The Mama's and the Papas', Ray Charles and other classics.. I don't even recall what got me into the Beatles but I remember the day I did.
The Beatles were never brought into my home from my parents, they weren't their biggest fans. The First Beatles song was my musical revolution lol It was summer, and I was 16 and free on the beach. Past John's sincere smile and Paul's drop dead gorgeous eyes those guys gave me thrills that put BSB in rehab.
From the Beatles came Bob Dylan, to Janis and Patti Smith and other great influences. Through these famed iconic artists I found a new appreciation for lyrics. I was always writing about love and heartbreak. Now I can write about peace, earth, bums and dancing barefoot.
Him and his band drew the world in with their simple, carefree, heartbeat lyrics, their gorgeous looks and boyish charms.
Lennon has that look. When Lennon branched solo, he took people with him. He continued his music with the beautiful Yoko and wrote about Peace, Love and Hope. He made a beautiful family and had a fanbase of people who wanted to change. Who cared, believed and hoped. Lennon was a leader, a motivational speaker and someone we all still admire. Thank you Lennon for giving us
Speech, Hope and Peace. Thank-you for giving Peace a chance, and I am spreading the love to carry on dreams
